Telangana Chief Minister, A. Revanth Reddy, instructed officials to raise awareness among farmers about potential drought conditions. Emphasizing the importance of cultivating crops with low water needs, he stressed the need for educating farmers on crop rotation and diversification. Additionally, a request will be made to the Central Government to allocate all urea production from the Ramagundam Fertilizers Factory to Telangana.
At a review meeting attended by officials from various departments, including Agriculture, Irrigation, and Health, the Chief Minister discussed monsoon preparedness. Meteorological Department officials presented information on Southwest monsoon rainfall patterns and the impact of El Niño. CM Revanth Reddy also inquired about the progress of maintenance work on irrigation projects, urging swift completion of necessary tasks.
Furthermore, the Chief Minister ordered immediate funding for irrigation project maintenance and instructed the Disaster Management Department to utilize its ₹1,000 crore fund following regulations. He also directed the prompt release of funds for road repairs and bridge reconstruction. Stressing quick responses to natural disasters, he highlighted the need for coordinated efforts between district-level officials, Collectors, and Superintendents of Police.
Operations within the Core Urban Region Economy (CURE) must involve collaboration among Commissioners of corporations and Police Commissioners. CM Revanth Reddy emphasized regular meetings to address public grievances and instructed officials to act promptly in case of any loss of life, property, or livestock during disasters.
