Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka criticized the BJP for allegedly trying to alter India’s Constitution and weaken democratic principles. Speaking at an event commemorating Dr. B. R. Ambedkar’s 135th birth anniversary, Vikramarka expressed concerns about the BJP’s impact on citizens’ fundamental rights, urging unity to protect the Constitution.
Vikramarka praised Dr. Ambedkar as a brilliant mind who laid the groundwork for democracy in India through the Constitution, emphasizing equal rights for all citizens. He highlighted Ambedkar’s efforts in promoting women’s empowerment and rights, noting his significant contributions to gender equality and labor laws.
The Deputy CM lauded Ambedkar’s role in granting voting rights to every citizen, enabling them to participate in shaping governance through elected representatives. He affirmed the Telangana government’s commitment to upholding Ambedkar’s principles, ensuring equitable distribution of resources and political rights among all citizens based on demographic representation.
At an event near the state Secretariat, Vikramarka, along with other officials, paid respects to Dr. Ambedkar at a 125-foot statue and launched a brochure promoting Ambedkar’s ideals.
