About 1.73 crore enumeration forms have been distributed in Telangana within four days as part of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process, according to Chief Electoral Officer Sudharshan Reddy. The Chief Electoral Officer praised Booth Level Officers (BLOs) and election officials for efficiently distributing the forms door to door.
As of Sunday, BLOs had distributed 1,43,17,635 enumeration forms, covering 42.33% of the voters in the state. Telangana, with over 3.38 crore voters, had mapped 2.38 crore voters by June 20.
Sudharshan Reddy emphasized the need for BLOs to ensure 100% distribution of enumeration forms within the set timeframe. He warned of legal action against any violations and urged political parties and Booth Level Agents (BLAs) to actively participate in the process.
The Chief Electoral Officer instructed officials to conduct field visits, enhance engagement with the public, and promote voter helplines. He also emphasized the importance of voter awareness programs and training sessions for BLOs to facilitate accurate form filling and achieve set targets.
Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) President Mahesh Kumar Goud attended an awareness meeting on the SIR process. He stressed the importance of including all eligible voters in the electoral roll and urged BLAs to work diligently to ensure accurate voter lists in line with Election Commission guidelines.
