The Telangana government, under Governor Jishnu Dev Varma, has focused on expanding welfare schemes, strengthening agricultural support, and developing infrastructure in the past two years. Significant investments have been made in digital education, new universities, and boosting the IT/ITES sector through tech parks and innovation initiatives. Governor Varma emphasized the state’s strong economic growth and improved law and order during the 77th Republic Day celebrations.
The government has accorded top priority to farmer welfare, providing round-the-clock quality power supply to the agricultural sector. Additionally, farm loans up to Rs 2 lakh have been waived, benefiting around 26 lakh farmers at an expenditure of Rs 20,617 crore. The Rythu Bharosa assistance was increased from Rs 10,000 to Rs 12,000 per acre per annum, enhancing support to cultivators.
Telangana has emerged as India’s leading producer of paddy, with robust agricultural infrastructure supporting this achievement. The state has expanded its presence in international markets, exporting rice to countries like the Philippines. To enhance the farmers’ economy, a Farmer Commission has been established for promoting sustainable agricultural practices through modern technologies and effective welfare scheme implementation.
The government has successfully completed recruitments in various categories through the Telangana Public Service Commission, providing jobs to 62,749 youth. Initiatives like the Digital Employment Exchange of Telangana (DEET) have been launched to empower youth for employment in the private sector. Major reforms in education have been introduced, including the establishment of the Young India Skill University and Young India Sports University.
Telangana aims to become a global skill capital by upgrading ITIs into Advanced Technology Centres, bridging the gap between industry and academia. The government has undertaken initiatives to strengthen the government education system, appointing an Education Commission and enhancing facilities for students. Young India Integrated Residential Schools are being set up to provide equal opportunities to students, with a recent addition of the Young India Police Residential School.
