The Telangana High Court has instructed the State government to upload all Government Orders (GOs), circulars, rules, and notifications on its official website. The court emphasized the importance of public access to government decisions and policies affecting daily life. Justice Surepalli Nanda highlighted the necessity of transparent governance as a fundamental aspect of democracy.

The court’s directive follows a writ petition filed by Errolla Srinivas, former chairman of Telangana SC/ST Commission. Srinivas argued that the government’s failure to publish GOs deprived citizens of their right to information, potentially fostering corruption. Data obtained through the Right to Information Act revealed that a significant number of GOs were not available in the public domain.

In response to the High Court’s order, BRS MLA T. Harish Rao criticized the government for lack of transparency. Rao called out the administration for concealing crucial information from the public, urging for greater accountability and openness in governance practices.
