Telangana Police have called on remaining Maoists in significant roles within CPI (Maoist) nationwide to surrender. There are 17 active Maoists from Telangana in various states. Encouraging them to abandon their underground existence, the police have emphasized the theme of ‘no more conflict-love your village’. Director General of Police B. Shivadhar Reddy has guaranteed rehabilitation for those who surrender, as pledged by the government.

The police have disclosed a list of Maoists in pivotal committee positions, along with the bounties on their heads. Among them are four Central Committee Members of CPI (Maoist), including Muppalla Lakshman Rao, alias Ganapathi, who is a Central Committee Member (CCM) and Politburo Member (PBM). Thippiri Tirupati, alias Devji, and Malla Raji Reddy, alias Sangram, both hold key positions and carry rewards of Rs 25 lakh each.

Pusunuri Narahari, alias Santosh, a Central Committee Member, Eastern Regional Bureau (ERB) Member, and in charge of Tudum Debba (TD), is active in Jharkhand. Telangana Police are actively persuading these Maoists to surrender. In 2025, a record 576 Maoists surrendered to the Telangana Police, marking a significant milestone since the inception of CPI-Maoist in 1980.

Efforts for the rehabilitation of surrendered Maoists are in progress, with a focus on providing essential amenities like Aadhaar cards, PAN cards, and bank accounts to those facing identification challenges. The Special Intelligence Branch (SIB) of the Telangana Intelligence Department is overseeing all rehabilitation programs for surrendered Maoists.
