Telangana’s outgoing Director General of Police (DGP) Battula Shivadhar Reddy expressed his honor in leading the state’s progressive, efficient, and tech-savvy police force. Retiring after a 32-year career, he reflected on the significant changes witnessed within the police force over the years. Shivadhar Reddy emphasized the implementation of friendly policing to enhance relations between the police and the public.
During his tenure as the DGP, Shivadhar Reddy acknowledged the support received from the people of Telangana and all members of the police force. He expressed gratitude for their dedication in maintaining peace and public safety. The state government appointed Shivadhar Reddy as the state security advisor following his retirement.
The newly appointed DGP, C. V. Anand, commended Shivadhar Reddy’s distinguished service over the years, particularly in areas affected by Naxalism. Anand highlighted Shivadhar Reddy’s role in facilitating the surrender of several Maoists, including top leaders. Shivadhar Reddy, an IPS officer of the 1994 batch, had previously served in various key positions at both district and state levels.
Shivadhar Reddy, a former lawyer who later joined the IPS, had a diverse career that included roles such as Superintendent of Police in multiple districts and Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic). He also served in the United Nations Mission in Kosovo as part of a peacekeeping mission. Over the years, he held significant positions within the police force, contributing to various departments and initiatives aimed at enhancing security and law enforcement.
