Tension arose at Lucknow University when members of ABVP, VHP, and Bajrang Dal tried to recite the Hanuman Chalisa at Lal Baradari. Police intervened, detaining students and dispersing the gathering. The protest stemmed from claims of bias, alleging permission for namaz but not for the Hanuman Chalisa.

Heavy police presence, including PAC and local officers, was visible at Gate No. 3 to manage the situation. Bajrang Dal members aimed to recite the Hanuman Chalisa at Lal Baradari, questioning the sudden mosque-like transformation of the site. Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister assured a thorough investigation to uphold law and order.

The incident followed prior protests, with student groups like SCS, NSUI, and AISA staging demonstrations outside Lal Baradari. Allegations surfaced that a mosque within the structure was sealed to prevent Muslim students from praying during Ramzan.
