Tension arose at the BRS headquarters, Telangana Bhavan in Hyderabad, when police detained former minister T. Harish Rao and other BRS leaders who were en route to Gun Park for a debate with state ministers regarding alleged irregularities in Gurukul residential school tenders.

In a dramatic turn of events in Hyderabad, three ministers arrived at the Telangana Martyrs’ Memorial (Gun Park) for a scheduled debate with Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leaders. However, former ministers Harish Rao and V. Srinivas Goud, along with other BRS leaders, were detained by the police as they were leaving Telangana Bhavan for Gun Park.

The political tension in Hyderabad escalated as leaders from the ruling Congress and main Opposition BRS engaged in challenges and counter-challenges for a debate on Telangana’s debt burden and the alleged irregularities in Gurukul residential school tenders.

BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao also arrived at Telangana Bhavan, awaiting excise and tourism minister Jupally Krishna Rao, who had challenged him to a debate on the state’s debt burden. Krishna Rao expressed readiness for the debate at Gun Park after attending a program at Congress headquarters Gandhi Bhavan.
