Tension escalated in Patna’s Musallahpur Haat area following a violent clash involving students and supporters of Khan Sir’s coaching institute and Gyan Bindu Coaching Centre. The confrontation, which included stone-pelting and allegations of gunfire, stemmed from a dispute between the students of the two institutes. The incident caused panic in the educational hub as groups near Khan Classes engaged in the confrontation.
Local shopkeepers closed their shops, and pedestrians sought safety amidst the chaos. A security guard at Khan Classes sustained a head injury and was hospitalized. The banner of the coaching institute was also torn down during the commotion. Police officials, led by Patna Senior Superintendent of Police Kartikeya K. Sharma, arrived at the scene to assess the situation and restore order.
Written complaints have been lodged by both parties involved in the clash. Khan Classes accused individuals from the rival side of opening fire, while Gyan Bindu Coaching Centre claimed that persons associated with Khan Classes fired shots. Police are investigating the allegations, relying on evidence and witness statements to reach conclusions. CCTV footage is being reviewed to identify the perpetrators of the violence.
Khan Sir attributed the attack to his institute’s increasing popularity and affordable educational approach. He emphasized the importance of accessible quality education for economically disadvantaged students. Khan Sir alleged that the attackers vandalized the coaching office and fired shots, providing CCTV footage to investigators. Police are working to arrest individuals engaged in stone-pelting and other illegal activities.
SSP Kartikeya K. Sharma categorized the incident as a case of physical assault. Statements from the injured guard, local residents, and witnesses will be crucial in the investigation. The injured guard is undergoing medical treatment as the police continue their inquiries.
