Tesla, supported by Elon Musk, inaugurated its inaugural experience center in Bengaluru’s Whitefield area, marking a significant move in the company’s expansion strategy in India. At this new facility situated in the city’s tech hub, customers can now explore the Model Y and the recently unveiled Model Y L, which starts at Rs 61.99 lakh (ex-showroom).
The electric vehicle giant also revealed the establishment of its after-sales service network in Whitefield to enhance customer support for Bengaluru residents amidst the growing interest in electric mobility in the nation. The Model Y L, a six-seater electric SUV, boasts a driving range of up to 681 km (WLTP) and can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in about five seconds.
Tesla emphasized that the electric SUV provides a cargo capacity of up to 2,539 liters and showcases a three-row seating configuration designed for families seeking spacious interiors and comfort. Additionally, both the Model Y and Model Y L have secured top safety ratings from various global safety bodies, including NHTSA and IIHS in the US, Euro NCAP in Europe, and ANCAP in Australia and New Zealand.
With Tesla Supercharging, the Model Y L can achieve up to 288 km of range in just a 15-minute charging session. The company also mentioned that home charging support will be accessible in India to enhance convenience for electric vehicle users. Orders for the Model Y L are now being accepted through Tesla’s official website.
Apart from Bengaluru, Tesla presently operates experience centers in Mumbai’s BKC, Delhi Aerocity, and Gurugram.
