Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC) stepped in to assist a bus conductor, Ameen Ahmed Ansari, who faced challenges due to his exceptional height of 6.5 feet. Ansari, serving at TGSRTC’s Mehdipatnam depot in Hyderabad, struggled to perform his duties inside the bus, which had a maximum height of 6.4 feet. This led to neck and back pain as he had to constantly bend while issuing tickets during his 10-hour shifts.
Due to his unique height-related difficulties, Ansari requested a change in duties, which caught the attention of Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar. The minister highlighted Ansari’s situation to Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, who recommended assigning him alternative responsibilities within TGSRTC. Consequently, TGSRTC offered Ansari out-of-designation duties for a year, which ended on April 28, 2026.
Recognizing the challenges faced by Ansari, TGSRTC granted permission to utilize his services in a different role within the corporation. Ansari was then assigned duties at the TGSRTC bus pass section or Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) based on operational needs. This move by the public transport authority was a significant relief for Ansari, who had joined the corporation on compassionate grounds following his father’s passing in 2021.
