Three children lost their lives, and their parents were critically injured when an out-of-control trolley crashed into a family in Jaipur’s Shyam Nagar area. The devastating incident occurred near Hotel Highway King on the busy 200-Foot Bypass (Ajmer Road).
The speeding trolley veered out of control, broke through a metal roadside safety railing, and collided with five family members before coming to a stop. The driver of the trolley reportedly fled the scene immediately following the accident.
The deceased children have been identified as Ramesh, Ratan, and Deepak. Their parents, Chandra Prakash and Kailashi, sustained severe injuries and were promptly taken to SMS Hospital for medical care. The bodies of the children were moved to the SMS Hospital mortuary for post-mortem examination.
Eyewitnesses recounted that the trolley was traveling at a high speed when the driver lost control, leading to the tragic collision with the family members. The vehicle crossed the road divider, crashed through an iron safety railing, and tragically struck the family standing nearby.
Local residents sprang into action to assist the victims as panic spread in the area. Police and ambulance teams arrived on the scene, with officials from the Shyam Nagar police station responding swiftly to the incident. The injured individuals were transported to the hospital, and a crane was utilized to clear the damaged trolley from the road, restoring traffic flow.
Authorities revealed that the trolley driver fled the scene post-accident, prompting a search operation to locate and apprehend the individual. A case has been registered by the police, who are actively investigating the precise cause of the tragedy. Additionally, CCTV footage from the vicinity is being reviewed to determine the circumstances that led to the loss of control by the vehicle.
The accident resulted in significant traffic congestion on the 200-Foot Bypass for a period before normal traffic flow resumed.
