A human rights organization in Balochistan has accused Pakistani forces of forcibly disappearing three civilians. The Baloch National Movement’s Human Rights Department expressed concern over the disappearance of two students, Siraj Qambrani and Lal Khan Qambrani, who were taken from their home in Quetta on April 24 by Pakistan’s Counter Terrorism Department. The whereabouts of the students remain unknown since then.
Baloch Voice for Justice strongly condemned the enforced disappearance of Babul Malik, Vice Chairman of the Pajjar Baloch Students Organisation, by Pakistani forces. The BVJ criticized this act as a violation of fundamental human rights and an attempt to silence dissent. Enforced disappearances have been called to an end, with demands for accountability and transparency from those responsible.
As violence against civilians rises in Balochistan, students staged a sit-in protest outside Bolan Medical College in Quetta demanding the release of Khadija Baloch. Khadija was reportedly abducted by Pakistani security forces on April 21 from the BMC female hostel in Quetta. The family of Khadija blocked the China–Pakistan Economic Corridor road in the Hironk area of Kech district to escalate their peaceful protest, demanding her immediate recovery or appearance before a court of law.
