Three individuals lost their lives, and four sustained injuries in a tragic car crash in Andhra Pradesh’s East Godavari district. The incident occurred on the national highway close to Yernagudem in Deverapalli mandal. A car en route from Rajamahendravaram to Vijayawada veered out of control, striking a road divider before colliding with another vehicle traveling in the opposite direction. Tragically, three people perished at the scene, while four others were wounded.
Police promptly responded to the scene, transporting the injured to a hospital in Gopalapuram. The deceased were moved to a government hospital for post-mortem examination. Authorities suspect that excessive speed may have been a contributing factor to the loss of control and subsequent collision. A case has been filed, and investigations are underway to determine the circumstances surrounding the accident.
In a separate incident, tension escalated near the Dornala-Srisailam Ghat Road in Kurnool district when a driver from the Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) was reportedly abducted and assaulted by passengers traveling on a Karnataka bus. The altercation stemmed from a dispute after an APSRTC bus failed to yield to the Karnataka bus, prompting the Karnataka bus driver to intercept the APSRTC vehicle following a pursuit.
The Karnataka bus driver, along with some passengers, forcibly took the APSRTC driver in their bus, subsequently assaulting him over perceived delays in their journey. This ordeal left passengers on the APSRTC bus stranded on the road until authorities intervened. Upon receiving notification, the police intercepted the Karnataka bus at the Dornala check-post, rescuing the APSRTC driver and detaining the driver and select passengers from the Karnataka bus for further inquiry.
Meanwhile, in Hyderabad, a man lost his life, and two others sustained injuries when the car they were traveling in collided with a truck on the Outer Ring Road near Himayat Sagar within the jurisdiction of the Rajendranagar Police Station.
