Three pilgrims tragically lost their lives, and four others were seriously injured in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh, when the SUV they were traveling in collided with a truck. The incident occurred near Mubarakganj under the Raunahi police station limits, leading to a rescue operation and significant traffic disruption on the busy route.
The collision happened when the speeding SUV crashed into the back of a truck with immense force, resulting in severe damage to the vehicles. The impact was so intense that the SUV’s roof was completely crushed, trapping several occupants inside. Three passengers lost their lives instantly due to the severity of the crash.
According to District Hospital Dr. Pankaj Kumar, seven individuals were in the SUV, en route to the Ram Temple when the accident occurred. Originating from Gonda, four of them sustained critical injuries and had to be rescued from the badly damaged vehicle.
The force of the collision was so strong that all four wheels of the SUV were torn off. Upon receiving the accident report, police and rescue teams promptly arrived at the scene with an ambulance. Rescue workers worked diligently to free the injured passengers from the wreckage before transferring them to a nearby hospital for medical attention.
The injured individuals are currently receiving medical treatment, while the bodies of the deceased have been sent for post-mortem examination. The accident caused a major traffic jam on the Lucknow-Ayodhya highway, halting vehicle movement for a period. Authorities are working to clear the accident site, remove the damaged vehicles, and restore normal traffic flow as soon as possible. Legal procedures related to the incident are ongoing.
