Tibetans and followers globally marked the 91st birthday of the 14th Dalai Lama, extending wishes for his well-being and longevity. Celebrations took place at the Tsuglagkhang temple in McLeodganj, despite the Dalai Lama’s absence due to medical reasons. The Central Tibetan Administration conveyed birthday greetings, praying for his health and compassion for all beings.
The International Buddhist Confederation praised the Dalai Lama’s dedication to peace and universal values, emphasizing the relevance of his message of kindness and mutual respect. Union Minister Nitin Gadkari and Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu also sent warm wishes for the spiritual leader’s health and prosperity. Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu joined in celebrating the occasion, expressing reverence and prayers for the Dalai Lama’s well-being.
Born in 1935, the Dalai Lama, known for his simplicity and joyful demeanor, was recognized as the 13th Dalai Lama’s reincarnation at a young age. Despite living in exile in India, he continues to inspire with his teachings on compassion and peace.
