Three terrorists, including a senior commander of the Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) group, were eliminated in a joint operation by security forces in Kishtwar district, Jammu and Kashmir. The Army’s White Knight Corps, along with J&K Police and CRPF, conducted the operation under #OpTrashi-I, neutralizing the third terrorist. The slain JeM commander, identified as Saifullah, was part of the group taken down in the encounter.
Intelligence agencies have lauded the elimination of Saifullah as a significant achievement in anti-terrorist efforts in the Jammu region. This operation marked the second encounter in Kishtwar this month, with previous skirmishes occurring in the same forested region. Over the past year, numerous face-offs have transpired between security forces and militants in the Chatroo area of Kishtwar.
The group of foreign terrorists believed to be operating in the region, frequently shifting between Kishtwar, Doda, and Udhampur districts, posed a challenge. Pursuing a proactive strategy, security forces have been actively tracking these Pakistani terrorists, prompting the group to constantly relocate to evade capture. Union Home Minister Amit Shah has emphasized the urgent need to neutralize such threats in the hilly terrains of Jammu, advocating for a mission-oriented approach to ensure peace in the union territory.
