A top commander of the Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) terror group, along with another terrorist, was killed by security forces in an operation in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kishtwar district. The joint operation, named Operation Trashi-I, was conducted based on credible intelligence inputs. The encounter took place in challenging terrain, with the troops successfully neutralizing the terrorists and recovering war-like stores, including AK-47 rifles.
The Army emphasized that the pursuit of those seeking to disrupt peace will continue relentlessly. This encounter marks the second such incident in the area this month, with previous encounters occurring in the Chatroo area of Kishtwar. Security forces are actively tracking a group of foreign terrorists believed to be moving between Kishtwar, Doda, and Udhampur districts. Union Home Minister Amit Shah has directed a focused effort to eliminate Pakistani terrorists in the region, emphasizing the importance of maintaining peace in Jammu and Kashmir.
