A tragic road accident near the Angrezi Dhala railway crossing in Bihar’s Begusarai resulted in the deaths of three young men and injuries to nine others. The collision between two SUVs traveling in opposite directions late Sunday night left both vehicles severely damaged, trapping passengers inside and causing chaos at the scene.
The deceased individuals have been identified as Rishabh Kumar (26), Sunny Kumar (24), and Himanshu Kumar (22), all residents of Pokharia locality. The accident occurred when a group of friends from Pokharia, en route to Simaria for a religious ritual, collided near Angrezi Dhala.
Local residents responded to the collision, assisting in rescuing the injured occupants from the wrecked vehicles. The injured were promptly taken to hospitals for treatment, with eight of them receiving care at a private medical facility.
Rishabh Kumar, pursuing his B.A. Part 1 studies at SBS College, was the youngest of three brothers, while Sunny Kumar was the third of four brothers in his family. The incident, which occurred during a festive occasion associated with a wedding procession, quickly turned into a moment of mourning for the Pokharia community.
Authorities are investigating the accident to determine the exact cause, focusing on factors such as overspeeding and poor visibility. The tragedy underscores concerns over road safety and high-speed driving, particularly during late-night travel, as the community mourns the loss of these young lives.
