The Trinamool Congress and CPI have rejected the recent exit polls for the Assembly elections in five states, particularly emphasizing that the people of West Bengal will not favor the BJP. Despite three out of four exit polls projecting a significant win for the BJP over Trinamool Congress, Trinamool candidate Shashi Panja expressed skepticism, highlighting the historical inaccuracy of such predictions in West Bengal.
Panja criticized the exit polls, questioning their methodology and potential biases in data collection. She remained optimistic about Trinamool’s performance, confidently stating expectations of securing over 235 seats, while predicting less than 50 seats for the BJP. Meanwhile, CPI’s D. Raja expressed confidence in the people’s rejection of the BJP in Bengal and hoped for a Left revival in the state.
Raja also shared insights on Kerala and Tamil Nadu, foreseeing the LDF’s return to power in Kerala for a third term. In Tamil Nadu, he predicted a victory for the DMK-led coalition under M.K. Stalin’s leadership, attributing the support to the people’s enthusiasm and opposition to the BJP. Purnia MP Pappu Yadav, commenting on the West Bengal exit polls, alleged bias and inconsistency, particularly targeting Axis My India CMD Pradeep Gupta for his changing stance.
