Moments after Trinamool Congress MP Kalyan Banerjee criticized Abhishek Banerjee for arrogance, his son, Sirsanya Bandopadhyay, expressed disapproval of the TMC general secretary’s behavior. Bandopadhyay mentioned withdrawing from a case involving Mamata Banerjee’s nephew due to Abhishek’s overbearing attitude.
Bandopadhyay stated that his father had been handling a court case against Abhishek Banerjee diligently but decided to step back due to Abhishek’s interference. He blamed Abhishek for the situation, citing a lack of trust. Bandopadhyay highlighted the efforts made by his father and legal team to assist Abhishek Banerjee.
Abhishek Banerjee’s team informed them that their legal services were no longer needed, appointing another lawyer instead, which Bandopadhyay found humiliating. Bandopadhyay criticized Abhishek’s inability to trust others and his approach to appointing a new set of lawyers. He emphasized that the Trinamool party is larger than Abhishek Banerjee and stands for the voice of numerous workers and supporters.
Bandopadhyay clarified that supporting party members in distress is crucial, especially when senior leaders are absent. Earlier, Kalyan Banerjee, a close aide to Mamata Banerjee, had issued an ultimatum, asking Mamata Banerjee to choose between Abhishek Banerjee and himself due to the latter’s perceived arrogance. Bandopadhyay praised his father’s loyalty to Mamata Banerjee in various circumstances.
