Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha highlighted the significance of promoting Hindi alongside local languages, citing its crucial role in communication and national unity. Union Home Minister Amit Shah has selected Agartala to host the Joint Regional Official Language Conference for the Northern, Eastern, and North Eastern regions, aiming to bolster Hindi while honoring linguistic diversity. The conference, set to take place at the International Indoor Exhibition Centre in Hapania, will be inaugurated by the Home Minister.
Describing Hindi as a widely understood language, the Chief Minister noted its accessibility in Tripura, where a majority can use it comfortably. He expressed the goal of uniting the country by prioritizing Hindi while acknowledging the importance of all languages, rooted in Sanskrit. Saha also thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah for their efforts in promoting linguistic harmony.
Touching on technology and innovation, the Chief Minister shared his participation in the AI Impact Summit in New Delhi, where he engaged with foreign delegates, Union Ministers, and Chief Ministers from various states on diverse issues. Saha expressed confidence in India’s technological future, foreseeing the country as a global hub for artificial intelligence, a crucial tool for progress.
The Ministry of Home Affairs’ Department of Official Language Secretary, Anshuli Arya, announced the participation of over 3,000 senior officials, representatives, and experts from Central government offices, public sector undertakings, and banks in the upcoming conference. This event, the first of its kind in Tripura, will witness attendees from around 20 states, including West Bengal, Odisha, Bihar, Jharkhand, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Arunachal Pradesh, Sikkim, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, Jammu and Kashmir, and Ladakh.
