Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha announced plans to establish an international skill center and a foreign language school to enhance global employment prospects for the state’s youth. Speaking at the 3rd Regional Workshop organized by NITI Aayog in Agartala, the Chief Minister emphasized the importance of governance in improving citizens’ quality of life and ensuring inclusive development.
Saha highlighted the collaborative nature of the State Support Mission, aiming to empower states in India’s development journey. He underlined the significance of strong institutions for sustainable socio-economic transformation and the alignment of states’ visions with the national goal of Viksit Bharat 2047. The workshop served as a platform for knowledge exchange and problem-solving among states at different developmental stages.
The Chief Minister praised Tripura’s focus on good governance and institutional reforms, particularly through the Tripura Institute for Transformation (TIFT). He noted TIFT’s role in addressing governance challenges and facilitating policy formulation and business reforms. Saha reiterated that the proposed skill center and language school would equip youth with the necessary skills for international employment, reducing the need for them to seek work outside the state.
Highlighting Tripura’s modern governance initiatives, Saha mentioned the establishment of a Public-Private Partnership cell to attract private investment. He also shared that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other states have recognized Tripura’s business reform strategies, with the Jindal Group starting steel manufacturing in the state and the establishment of private universities and medical colleges.
