Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha lauded the Tripura budget for the financial year 2026-27, emphasizing its focus on inclusive development benefiting all sections of society. The budget, presented by Finance Minister Pranajit Singha Roy in the state Assembly on March 16, was hailed as people-oriented, reflecting the government’s commitment to transparency and balanced growth.
During the Assembly discussion on the proposed budget, Saha expressed his support for the well-prepared financial plan, highlighting the importance of maintaining financial discipline in budgeting. He commended the Finance Minister for presenting a forward-looking budget aligned with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a developed India.
Saha noted that the state budget mirrors the Union Budget’s theme of self-reliance, aiming to cater to various segments of society, including women, students, youth, tribals, Scheduled Castes, OBCs, minorities, employees, and pensioners. He underscored the budget’s alignment with national economic progress under PM Modi’s leadership, projecting India’s rise in the global economy and its positive impact on states like Tripura.
The Chief Minister emphasized the government’s commitment to transparency and overall development, assuring that efforts towards sustainable development and a ‘Viksit Bharat’ are underway. With a total budget outlay of Rs 34,212.31 crore for the financial year 2026-27, marking a 5.52% increase over the previous year, the budget prioritizes the education sector without introducing new taxes.
