Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha highlighted the state’s growth as a higher education hub in the Northeast, boasting seven universities, three engineering colleges, and three medical colleges. The state also houses various other professional institutions that contribute to a skilled workforce.
Saha inaugurated Northeast India’s largest data center and emphasized Tripura’s top rank in Deregulation and Compliance Reduction 2025. He mentioned the state’s investor-friendly atmosphere and pro-reform governance, attracting interest from both national and international investors. India’s data consumption, accounting for 20% globally with only 2% storage capacity, underscores the significance of the data center’s establishment in Tripura.
The Chief Minister praised Tripura’s favorable conditions like surplus power availability, pollution-free environment, and air connectivity, making it an attractive destination for data center investments. With India’s data storage capacity expected to grow significantly by 2030, Tripura’s strategic location and infrastructure advantages position it as a key data center and IT hub in the Northeast.
