Tripura Governor Indrasena Reddy Nallu announced a notable improvement in law and order in the state, with an 8.33% decrease in overall crime from April to November 2025 compared to the same period in 2024. Various crime categories, including property offenses, crimes against women, rape cases, murder, and assault, showed significant declines, indicating enhanced deterrence and policing efforts.
Governor Nallu emphasized the success of the state’s “Nesha Mukt Tripura” campaign against drugs, revealing 350 cases filed under the NDPS Act, 1985, involving 515 accused during the stated period. Security forces seized substantial amounts of drugs, including ganja, cough syrup, methamphetamine tablets, and heroin/brown sugar, while also eradicating over 2.10 crore ganja plants or saplings, marking a 74.45% increase from the previous year.
Furthermore, the Governor highlighted the implementation of new criminal laws that led to a significant rise in conviction rates, reaching 68.25% between January and November 2025. He also mentioned the successful resettlement of 6,935 Reang tribal families who had fled Mizoram, following a quadripartite agreement signed in 2020.
In the agriculture sector, the government’s initiatives include creating a farmers’ registry covering 2.71 lakh farmers and implementing a Digital Crop Survey, resulting in special assistance of Rs 260 crore from the Centre. Various schemes like PM-KISAN and PMFBY have benefited farmers, with efforts to upgrade educational institutions and boost tourism infrastructure also underway.
