Actress Trisha Krishnan expressed gratitude to the late playback singer S Janaki, known as South India’s Nightingale, for her impact on her life. Trisha, in an emotional Instagram post, honored Janaki’s humility and artistry, considering it a privilege to have known her. Janaki, a revered singer with over 48,000 songs in various Indian languages, passed away at 88 after a cardiac arrest.
Trisha reminisced about Janaki’s warmth, laughter, and wisdom, emphasizing the singer’s belief that true artists are modest individuals. She acknowledged the everlasting presence of Janaki’s voice and bid her a peaceful rest. Janaki’s demise occurred at Apollo BGS Hospitals in Mysuru, where despite medical efforts, she succumbed to multiple cardiac arrests.
The hospital’s statement confirmed Janaki’s critical condition upon admission and the subsequent unsuccessful resuscitation attempts. Janaki’s mortal remains were brought to Maharaja College Grounds in Mysuru for the public to pay their respects to the legendary singer.
