Before considering military action against Iran, US President Donald Trump has consistently emphasized that Iran must not possess a nuclear weapon. The White House highlighted Trump’s unwavering stance over the years, with him reiterating this message at least 74 times. Trump’s firm position dates back to November 2011 and remains unchanged.

On February 24, 2026, Trump reiterated his warning to Iran, stating that he would not allow the world’s top sponsor of terror to acquire nuclear weapons. Just five days earlier, on February 19, 2026, he emphasized the necessity of preventing Iran from obtaining nuclear arms for peace in the Middle East. Trump has repeatedly stressed the importance of no nuclear enrichment by Iran.

Trump’s statements have been concise and direct, with clear messages against Iran’s nuclear ambitions. He has consistently maintained his position that Iran cannot be allowed to possess nuclear weapons, emphasizing the global threat such weapons pose. This stance predates his presidency and aligns with long-standing US policy to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear capabilities.

Disputes surrounding Iran’s nuclear program have been a focal point of US policy in the Middle East for over a decade, leading to diplomatic tensions and periodic escalations.
