US President Donald Trump mentioned that he is currently assessing a new proposal from Iran aimed at resolving conflicts. He also indicated a willingness to consider further military and strategic actions, such as eliminating Iran’s remaining missile capabilities and reducing American troop levels in Europe. Trump made these comments briefly to reporters before departing from Palm Beach.
Regarding Iran’s proposal, Trump acknowledged that he is reviewing a reported 14-point plan from Tehran and stated that he will provide updates on the matter later. In another statement during the same interaction, Trump characterized Iran as being in a weakened state and expressed that they are seeking a deal while facing leadership challenges.
When questioned about Iran’s remaining missile capabilities, estimated at around 15%, Trump expressed his desire to see this portion removed entirely. He emphasized the importance of eliminating this capability as a starting point for Iran to rebuild. Additionally, Trump did not rule out the possibility of further US military actions if Iran engages in unfavorable behavior.
Trump defended the current US enforcement measures in the region, describing them as stable and emphasizing that no challenges have been raised against them. He also hinted at the potential for American energy companies to operate in Iran and highlighted the significant oil shipments to the US, particularly to Texas and Louisiana.
In a separate development, Trump announced plans to reduce the US troop presence in Germany beyond previous expectations. He criticized congressional scrutiny of military actions, stating that such oversight weakens negotiation capabilities and hampers ongoing diplomatic efforts.
