US President Donald Trump issued a warning to Iran, cautioning against any military action and threatening to respond with unparalleled force. Trump’s statement came in response to Iran’s Islamic Republic Guard Corps (IRGC) vowing to avenge the death of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei by promising a historically fierce offensive operation against the US and Israel. The IRGC emphasized its commitment to defending Khamenei’s legacy and delivering punitive measures to those deemed aggressors against Iran.
The IRGC announced the initiation of the fifth wave of Operation True Promise 4, targeting American vessels in the region, including those in the Indian Ocean, engaged in ammunition transport and refuelling missions. According to the IRGC, American naval facilities in Kuwait were hit by ballistic missiles and drones, resulting in significant damage to infrastructure and casualties among US forces. Iranian missiles also struck an American combat support ship acting as a refuelling tanker in the Indian Ocean.
Following the alleged killing of Khamenei in a joint US-Israeli attack, Iran retaliated, triggering conflicts across the Middle East. The IRGC vowed to keep confronting enemy forces, with the Revolutionary Guard Corps Navy prepared to engage any hostile units in defense of Iran’s interests.
