Two alleged criminals were injured and arrested after a police encounter in the Baligaon police station area of Vaishali district, Bihar. The Bihar Special Task Force (STF) and Samastipur Police conducted a joint operation leading to the arrest. The suspects, identified as Aman Sahani of Muzaffarpur and his accomplice, were wanted in multiple criminal cases, including robbery and dacoity.
The incident occurred when the suspects, attempting to evade arrest, fired at the police team. In response, the police fired back in self-defence, causing the suspects to sustain bullet injuries to their legs. Both individuals were promptly taken into custody and are currently receiving medical treatment at Samastipur Sadar Hospital under police supervision.
Following a tip-off about the suspects’ presence in the Tajpur area of Samastipur district, the joint team of STF and Samastipur Police initiated the operation. The suspects tried to flee on a motorcycle upon noticing the police, eventually leading to a confrontation in Bhusahi village under the Baligaon police station limits in Vaishali district.
Vaishali Superintendent of Police (SP) Shubhank Mishra visited the scene, oversaw the investigation, and instructed officers to conduct a thorough inquiry. Additionally, a Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) team was summoned to gather evidence from the encounter site.
