Two out of four friends drowned in the Narmada River while swimming in Semalda village, Dhar district, Madhya Pradesh. The missing youths, Pooran and Dinesh, are yet to be found, while Manoj Yadav and Naveen Yogi were successfully rescued. The incident took place on a Sunday evening.
Rescue operations involving the police, divers, and local boatmen continued late into the evening. The four friends, all employees at a cement company in Tonki village near Manawar, had traveled to Semalda for a holiday outing by the river. Unfortunately, while swimming, they got into deep waters and faced the tragic accident.
Naveen Yogi, one of the survivors, mentioned that Pooran and Dinesh were Site In-charges at the cement company. Local villagers and boatmen acted promptly upon seeing the drowning youths, managing to rescue Manoj Yadav and Naveen Yogi. However, efforts to locate Pooran and Dinesh were ongoing with the help of divers and villagers using boats.
A joint team of police and administration is conducting a search operation for the missing youths. The incident has drawn a large crowd of villagers and cement company employees at the boat ghat, where the search operation is being coordinated.
