UAE authorities reported that two individuals sustained injuries when debris from drones intercepted by air defenses landed in the courtyards of two homes in Dubai. The injured individuals have received medical treatment. The Government of Dubai Media Office confirmed the incident, stating that the sounds heard in the emirate were due to successful interception operations.
The UAE’s Ministry of Defence announced that the Air Force and Air Defence Forces had intercepted and destroyed 137 ballistic missiles and 209 drones aimed at the country’s territories during the Iranian attack. Out of the 137 Iranian ballistic missiles launched, 132 were destroyed, while 5 landed in the sea. Similarly, 209 Iranian drones were detected, with 195 intercepted, and 14 causing collateral damage within the country.
Following the interception operations, some debris fell in scattered areas of the UAE, resulting in minor material damage to civilian properties. The relevant authorities swiftly responded to the situation, ensuring the safety of residents and securing the affected sites. The Ministry of Defence strongly condemned the attack, labeling it as a dangerous escalation that threatens security and stability, emphasizing the violation of national sovereignty and international law.
The Ministry assured that it remains on high alert to counter any threats and protect the UAE’s security and stability. It reiterated the priority of safeguarding the safety of citizens, residents, and visitors without compromise, emphasizing the country’s right to respond to such escalations and uphold its sovereignty, security, and stability.
