In a successful operation by Delhi Police Crime Branch, two key members of the Goldy Brar-Lipin Nehra gang were captured, and a significant number of firearms were seized. The apprehended individuals, Randeep alias Rinku (36 years) and Hitesh Kumar (23 years), residents of Jhajjar and Rewari (Haryana), were found with six sophisticated firearms, eight live cartridges, and two single-shot pistols. They are suspected to be crucial figures in the gang’s illegal arms supply and extortion activities.
The Anti-gangster squad, in collaboration with Delhi Police and Crime Branch, conducted the operation leading to the arrest of the accused. The police also confiscated their Toyota Hilux car. Randeep and Hitesh were reportedly involved in multiple extortion-related firing incidents in Haryana and were instrumental in delivering extortion proceeds to gang members as directed by Lipin Nehra, the gang leader.
Law enforcement authorities are currently interrogating the arrested individuals to determine the source of the recovered firearms and to identify other gang members. One of the accused had allegedly threatened a businessman in Haryana with an extortion demand of Rs 1 crore, orchestrated by Lipin Nehra. The police investigation revealed that Lipin Nehra, based in Canada, was coordinating illegal arms transactions in India through encrypted communication channels.
The Anti-Gangster Squad of the Crime Branch was mobilized to address the rising instances of organized crime, extortion, and illegal firearm usage in the NCR region. By leveraging intelligence and surveillance, the squad tracked the activities, networks, and hideouts of criminal elements, leading to the recent arrests. The team’s efforts were supported by human intelligence from confidential informants and continuous monitoring operations.
Following specific intelligence, a trap was set near Tajpur, Dwarka, Delhi, resulting in the apprehension of the suspects while they were traveling in a Toyota Hilux. Despite attempting to escape, the individuals were subdued by the police team. Authorities are now focusing on unraveling the gang’s smuggling tactics for illegal arms and their modus operandi in threatening and extorting businessmen.
