Two individuals lost their lives, and one person sustained severe injuries in a tragic road accident in Bihar’s Gaya district. The incident occurred when a car collided with a fertiliser-laden truck on the Dobhi-Patna four-lane highway near Sijua Mor. The collision was so intense that the car caught fire immediately, leading to the death of the occupants trapped inside.
Local police swiftly responded to the accident, which took place around 1:30 a.m. near Sijua Mor. The identities of the deceased individuals are yet to be determined. The bodies were recovered from the burnt vehicle and sent for post-mortem examinations at Anugrah Narayan Magadh Medical College and Hospital (ANMMCH) in Gaya.
Rishabh Kumar, a resident of Madhaul village in Vaishali district and son of Shyam Nandan Singh, was the third occupant of the car and suffered critical injuries. He was first taken to a nearby hospital and later transferred to Patna for advanced medical care due to the seriousness of his condition. Rishabh Kumar was returning from Ranchi when the accident occurred.
The collision was a result of the fertiliser-laden truck allegedly entering the main highway from an approach road in the wrong direction. The car collided with the truck’s diesel tank, causing a massive fire that completely destroyed the car and damaged a significant portion of the truck. The truck driver and helper fled the scene following the accident.
Authorities are conducting a detailed investigation to confirm the exact sequence of events that led to the tragic crash. The police are actively searching for the absconding truck driver and helper while working to establish the identities of the deceased individuals. Efforts are also underway to obtain a detailed statement from the injured survivor, Rishabh Kumar, once his condition stabilizes.
