Two disturbing incidents of violent crime rocked Bihar recently. In Jehanabad, a key witness in a murder case, Vijay Yadav, was fatally shot by armed assailants while returning home with his son. The attackers, on motorcycles, intercepted them, leading to Yadav’s tragic death on the spot. His son alleged that the murder was to prevent his testimony in court.
Meanwhile, in Muzaffarpur, a retired Punjab National Bank cashier, Ashok Kunwar, and his wife Neelam Devi were found murdered in their residence. Their son, Dr. Nikhil Kumar, discovered the crime through CCTV footage on his phone, prompting the police to investigate. Kunwar was found with multiple stab wounds, while Devi’s body showed signs of strangulation and binding.
Authorities in both cases are actively investigating all possible angles. In Jehanabad, police are pursuing the motive related to the witness, while in Muzaffarpur, forensic teams are analyzing evidence to establish the sequence of events. The identities of the suspects in both cases are under scrutiny, with efforts to bring the perpetrators to justice ongoing.
