Two young employees of a private cement company tragically drowned in the Narmada River at Semalda Narmada Ghat in Dhar district. The victims, Pooran Yadav and Dinesh Yadav from Rajasthan, were identified after a 15-hour rescue operation. The incident occurred while the friends were bathing on their day off.
The group of friends, including Pooran and Dinesh, visited the river for relaxation but encountered a strong current. Despite efforts by companions and local boatmen, the two men could not be saved. Survivors shared that they were unable to rescue their friends due to the river’s forceful flow.
Authorities, along with villagers and boatmen, conducted a search operation that lasted through the night and resumed the next morning. The bodies were recovered in the presence of family members. Prior to the incident, a crocodile sighting had been reported at the same spot, warning people to avoid the water.
