Former Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray of Shiv Sena-UBT has swiftly summoned all party Members of Parliament (MPs) for a crucial meeting on June 14 at his residence, ‘Matoshree’. This unexpected move has stirred discussions in political circles, raising concerns about potential unrest within the party. The meeting is seen as a strategic step by Thackeray to maintain unity among the party’s parliamentary members.
Thackeray’s directive for all MPs to convene at ‘Matoshree’ on June 14 has fueled speculations surrounding ‘Operation Tiger’. Notably, the absence of Parbhani MP Sanjay alias Bandu Jadhav from recent party gatherings has sparked rumors about his future political endeavors. There are suggestions that Jadhav might be in contact with Chief Minister Eknath Shinde.
Amidst ongoing rumors, reports have emerged indicating that a few MPs aligned with Thackeray have engaged with Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. Notably, Hingoli MP Nagesh Patil Ashtikar, Nashik MP Rajabhau Waje, and Shirdi MP Bhausaheb Wakchaure have had interactions with key figures from the Shinde-led Shiv Sena. While these meetings have been portrayed as routine discussions on regional projects, political analysts speculate broader political implications.
The political landscape in Maharashtra has become increasingly charged, drawing parallels to the recent upheavals in West Bengal. This has led to heightened scrutiny of the BJP-led Central government by the opposition, particularly over concerns such as paper leaks, alleged electoral manipulation, and corruption. The Congress party, in particular, has criticized Union Home Minister Amit Shah for allegedly employing aggressive tactics to secure a significant majority in the Lok Sabha before the upcoming Parliament Monsoon Session.
