Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) president Aleksander Ceferin has lauded Hungary for successfully organizing the 2025-26 UEFA Champions League final in Budapest. In a letter to the Hungarian Football Federation, Ceferin emphasized that hosting such an event is a significant responsibility in global football.
Ceferin attributed the success of the final to years of hard work, dedication, and meticulous preparation by all involved parties. He expressed gratitude to the Hungarian Football Federation, the organizing team, and everyone who contributed to making the event a success, highlighting the unity, passion, and friendship showcased through football.
The UEFA president praised Budapest as an excellent host city for the final, noting that the Puskas Arena’s top-notch facilities provided a fitting stage for Europe’s premier club competition and symbolized the progress of Hungarian football in recent years. The final, held on May 30, saw Paris Saint-Germain emerge victorious over Arsenal in a penalty shootout.
With this win, Paris Saint-Germain secured their second Champions League title, becoming the first French club to achieve this milestone twice and the second European club to do so consecutively.
