Ukrainian player Marta Kostyuk continued her impressive clay court performance at Roland Garros by defeating Viktorija Golubic of Switzerland, securing a spot in the French Open’s fourth round for the second time in her career. Kostyuk, the 15th seed, has now won 15 consecutive matches on clay, showcasing her dominance during the European clay court season. Her recent victory sets up a highly anticipated fourth-round clash with four-time French Open champion Iga Swiatek, renewing their rivalry from the 2021 tournament.

Swiatek, another strong contender, advanced to the second week with a convincing win over Magda Linette, emphasizing her prowess on clay as she aims for a fifth French Open title. Kostyuk’s exceptional form and aggressive playstyle have made her a standout performer on the WTA Tour’s clay swing, setting the stage for an exciting match against Swiatek in the women’s draw.

In other women’s singles action, Chinese qualifier Wang Xiyu continued her impressive run by defeating Yuliia Starodubtseva without dropping a set, securing a spot in the last 16. Meanwhile, Novak Djokovic was set to face Joao Fonseca in the men’s draw, following world number one Jannik Sinner’s unexpected loss. Alexander Zverev, the second seed, was scheduled to play against French wildcard Quentin Halys in his pursuit of the elusive Grand Slam title.
