Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare J. P. Nadda led a virtual review meeting with Kerala’s Health Minister, K. Muraleedharan, to assess the progress of key health programs in the state. The discussion centered on various flagship initiatives in Kerala, such as the TB-Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan, Free Drugs Service Initiative, and Human Resources for Health under the National Health Mission.
The meeting highlighted the importance of enhancing healthcare services, ensuring access to quality medicines and diagnostics, and strengthening health infrastructure and human resources in Kerala. Additionally, the focus was on improving medical education, enhancing regulatory oversight of drugs and blood banks, and reinforcing food safety systems across the state.
K. Muraleedharan updated the Union Health Minister on Kerala’s advancements in health programs and emphasized the state’s efforts to bolster healthcare services. He also outlined key challenges and areas where Central support is needed, reaffirming the state government’s commitment to collaborating closely with the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
Acknowledging Kerala’s progress in implementing health initiatives, the Union Health Minister pledged continued support and stressed the significance of sustained collaboration between the Centre and the state. Both parties expressed their dedication to strengthening public health systems and ensuring accessible, affordable, and quality healthcare services for all citizens through effective implementation of flagship health programs.
