Union Minister of State Ravneet Singh Bittu criticized Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann for accusing the BJP of involvement in recent twin blasts in the state. Bittu suggested that CM Mann should cool down and reconsider his statements before speaking. He also referred to CM Mann as an “ISI agent.”
CM Mann had earlier stated that the blasts were part of BJP’s election strategy in Punjab. Bittu, in response, questioned Mann’s ability to target anyone and implied that his statements might be influenced by alcohol consumption. He advised Mann to reflect on his words after calming down.
After two explosions in Jalandhar and Amritsar, Punjab’s Director General of Police Gaurav Yadav hinted at ISI’s involvement in creating unrest in the state. Bittu challenged CM Mann to take concrete actions if he truly believed in his accusations. He demanded an apology from Mann for his remarks.
Moreover, Bittu suggested that CM Mann’s statements have brought joy to the ISI, likening Mann’s actions to those of an ISI agent. The Leader of Opposition in Punjab, Partap Singh Bajwa, labeled Mann’s allegations against the BJP as severe. Union Minister Giriraj Singh accused the Punjab government of protecting terrorists, leading to a contentious political atmosphere in the state.
