Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan honored more than 400 Lakhpati Didis, PMAY-G beneficiaries, and SHG leaders for their contributions to rural livelihoods and inclusive development. He highlighted the importance of empowering women through initiatives like DAY–NRLM and emphasized gender equality and social change. Chouhan encouraged SHG networks to enhance government scheme delivery, expand livelihood opportunities, and support organic farming.

Women’s empowerment and their role in nation-building were underscored by the minister, who stressed the need for women’s participation in economic activities. Dr. Chandra Sekhar Pemmasani, Minister of State for Rural Development and Communications, emphasized the pivotal role of women in the economy, with a significant presence in MSMEs. He also highlighted the increasing participation of rural women in market linkages and digital platforms for economic growth.

Efforts towards individual bank linkages, entrepreneurship promotion, and self-reliance were discussed by Chouhan, who called for social and political transformation led by women. The event aimed to strengthen women-led rural development and promote collective efforts for social progress and transformation.
