Union Minister Giriraj Singh stated that the Centre plans to reinstate statehood to Jammu and Kashmir at an appropriate time. This announcement follows J&K Chief Minister Omar Abdullah’s recent push for the restoration of statehood and constitutional assurances for the region. Farooq Abdullah, president of the Jammu & Kashmir National Conference, has invited various parties, including the Aam Aadmi Party, Shiromani Akali Dal, Biju Janata Dal, and the Bahujan Samaj Party, to join a protest in Delhi on July 20.
Giriraj Singh criticized Farooq Abdullah, accusing him and his family of supporting Pakistan and advocating for the inclusion of separatists in mainstream politics. Singh emphasized the need for statehood to be granted by the government at the appropriate juncture. Additionally, Singh targeted Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav, suggesting that socialism should align with traditional values.
Singh further elaborated on his criticism, highlighting the alleged disconnect between certain political figures and the cultural ethos of India. He emphasized the importance of upholding traditional values and criticized those who he believed were undermining them for political gain.
