Union Minister Jyotiraditya M. Scindia introduced three new premium delivery services by the Department of Posts in New Delhi. These services, namely 24 Speed Post, 48 Speed Post, and 24 Speed Post Parcel, aim to provide faster and time-bound deliveries in key cities. The launch event witnessed the presence of Minister of State for Communications Chandra Sekhar Pemmasani and senior postal department officials.
The government’s initiative to modernize India’s logistics system and enhance delivery efficiency is highlighted through these services. Scindia emphasized the significance of this launch for India Post’s transformation and its commitment to offering improved services domestically and internationally. These services were rolled out following extensive pilot runs conducted over the past three months.
The 24 Speed Post and 24 Speed Post Parcel services promise next-day deliveries between major metro cities like New Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Bengaluru, and Hyderabad. Notable features include real-time tracking, OTP-based delivery confirmation, and compensation for delays. Deliveries will be operational even on Sundays and holidays, excluding national holidays.
Moreover, the 48 Speed Post service ensures deliveries within two days among the mentioned cities, focusing on reliable and time-bound document delivery with tracking and SMS alerts. Initially launched in the six metro cities, these services will gradually expand to other Tier-1 and Tier-2 cities. The move is anticipated to benefit e-commerce companies, small businesses, startups, and individual customers by facilitating quicker parcel movements.
