Union Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting, L. Murugan, highlighted the importance of students in realizing India’s goal of becoming self-reliant and a developed nation by 2047. During his visit to Kolasib district in Mizoram, Murugan engaged with students, discussing the country’s path to development by its centenary year of Independence. He stressed the significant role of the youth in achieving the national vision of ‘Viksit Bharat 2047’.
Murugan, accompanied by local officials, toured various government projects and educational institutions in the district. He inaugurated the “Khet Bachao Abhiyan” by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research, promoting sustainable farming practices for healthy crop production. The campaign aims to educate farmers on modern agricultural techniques and maintaining soil health for sustainable farming.
The Union Minister also visited schools in Kolasib, interacting with students on India’s journey towards development by 2047. At Diakkawn High School, NCC cadets welcomed him with a parade, showcasing Mizo cultural performances. Murugan observed vocational courses aligned with the National Education Policy, focusing on enhancing students’ employability and skills.
During his visit to the Anganwadi Centre at Kolasib Vengthar, Murugan reviewed child welfare and nutrition services. The trip underscored the government’s commitment to bolstering education, sports, agriculture, and child development initiatives in Mizoram, aiming to foster community involvement in national development programs.
