Union Minister for New and Renewable Energy Prahlad Joshi highlighted Madhya Pradesh’s rise as a key renewable energy hub while inaugurating two significant solar power projects in Neemuch and Shajapur districts. These projects, the 500 MW Neemuch Solar Park and the 450 MW Shajapur Solar Park, were commissioned at a total cost of Rs 2,080 crore, aiming to enhance the state’s renewable energy capacity. Prahlad Joshi commended Madhya Pradesh for offering the country’s lowest solar power tariff at Rs 2.14 per unit, emphasizing the state’s dedication to affordable and clean energy.
Chief Minister Mohan Yadav expressed the state government’s commitment to positioning Madhya Pradesh as a leading producer of clean and sustainable energy. He underlined the state’s focus on attracting investments and creating job opportunities, aiming for green development. Yadav also noted Neemuch’s growing significance in the renewable energy sector, with operational and under-construction solar capacities in the district surpassing 1,952 MW. The state’s overall renewable energy capacity has now exceeded 12,000 MW, indicating a substantial growth trajectory in the sector.
Both leaders inaugurated industrial and infrastructure projects worth Rs 1,553.98 crore, including a solar glass manufacturing unit with an investment exceeding Rs 1,200 crore. Additionally, they laid the foundation stones for the Agar Solar Park, a 550 MW project currently under construction. These initiatives are expected to not only create employment opportunities but also bolster the state’s industrial landscape. Madhya Pradesh’s relentless pursuit of clean, affordable, and sustainable energy is positioning it as a frontrunner in the renewable energy domain.
