Union Minister for Food, Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution Pralhad Joshi stated that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government consistently ensures fair allocation to all states, including Karnataka, in the Union Budget. Emphasizing the government’s focus on just distribution, Joshi highlighted attention to various sectors like roads, industry, railways, airports, agriculture, and manufacturing.
Joshi criticized Rahul Gandhi’s claims, alleging that the NDA government under Modi’s leadership has achieved development milestones in five years that the Congress couldn’t in 60 years. He pointed out the strengthening of railways and the manufacturing sector nationwide through initiatives like the PLI scheme.
Assuring greater contributions to Karnataka, including railway projects, Joshi expressed expectations of higher allocations for the state in the upcoming Union Budget. He highlighted the significant increase in budget allocations from Rs 700–800 crore to Rs 8,000 crore, indicating substantial support for the state’s development.
Joshi affirmed the government’s commitment to the Mahadayi project, addressing existing hurdles and emphasizing efforts to find solutions without politicizing the issue. He also highlighted the potential growth opportunities for Karnataka through the India–European Union Free Trade Agreement, particularly in expanding exports and accelerating industrial growth.
