Union Minister for Heavy Industries and Steel, Pralhad Joshi, addressed Karnataka Home Minister Priyank Kharge’s recent criticism of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) in Hubballi. Joshi defended the RSS, emphasizing its century of service and asserting that it does not require registration.
Joshi dismissed Kharge’s remarks, likening them to a repetitive old radio tune with diminishing significance. He accused Kharge of eyeing the Chief Minister’s position and making statements to impress the Leader of the Opposition in Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi. Joshi stated that there was no necessity to engage with Kharge’s queries as senior RSS leaders had already addressed them.
The disagreement between Priyank Kharge and the RSS primarily revolves around the Karnataka Home Minister’s critique of the organization, particularly questioning its operations and registration status. Joshi also criticized the Congress government in Karnataka, alleging widespread corruption within the state administration. He expressed concerns over Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar’s impact on Bengaluru and warned of similar consequences for the entire state if he assumed the Chief Minister’s role.
Joshi refuted the Congress government’s claim of being free from corruption, labeling it as a government plagued by corrupt practices. He highlighted that even ruling party legislators had accused their own government of corruption, indicating internal discord within the Congress. Joshi further drew parallels with West Bengal and Maharashtra, accusing regional parties in these states of corruption, mismanagement, exploitation, and dynastic politics, leading to their weakening.
